envy can be a good and bad thing.
while one may feel an innate sense of guilt for feeling envious (in this sense, intense jealousy) for another person's achievement or good fortune, sometimes its unavoidable. part of human nature, we can throw the blame on.
envy can churn out positive motivation but is also capable of bringing out really ugly dark emotions. it challenges you to work harder and excel to reach higher standards. but if one makes it personal or deems that person undeserving of the good fortune, it can bring out hatred or a form of detest or just about any negative feeling u can think of.
everyone is capable of being envious of another, esp if u bring comparison into the picture. ppl like comparing themselves to others, to match success to success and failure to failure, to see who's ahead of the other. ppl prefer comparing themselves to another they deem as less superior to themselves bcz it gives them a sense of achievement or superiority, the feel good factor that they are at least ahead of some1 in the rat race.
i seem to be painting a very crude picture of human nature, of selfishness and individualism. but isnt it true.
is it okay to feel envious of another? in this case, i mean the negative intense jealousy.
hmmm......
we do try though, to keep ourselves on track by having moral checkpoints constantly. and the better things in life such as joy, peace, love help to drown out negativity and keep ppl in harmony with one another.
Envious of this adorable bunny? :)

It is normal to be envious or even jealous about others' success or fortune, because that's human nature. And that's exactly why human are born with sin - we are naturally sinful. No one taught us to be jealous but we just know how to. Being in our natural self doesn't mean we are right. And it's this sin that separates us from God. Hence only through Jesus can we be saved.
its not right or nice but sometimes we cant help feeling that way.
Hmm... I can't help but agree with you.
It's a matter of how you see it. Like you said, it's "I must work harder so that I can be like him/her" or "I must make him/her as miserable as I am"
owh youch the making him/her as miserable as i am seems a bit too destructive. prolly not til thr but js some resentment? hehe.
best way to stop any sin is to stop making excuses for the sinning. Saying that it's human nature, being born in sin, or even being saved through Jesus Christ, etc, in a way just comforts us in our sins. If u don't make up excuses for whatever sins you've committed or about to commit, then there would be no reasoning to the act of sin. Thus, if sin is committed, the u'd feel so guilty that hopefully u'd just not commit the sins.
Same goes with -ve feelings. No excuses, then the -ve feelings won't evolve into anything. U'll have the fear of God and guilt to smother it.
Hence, no excuses, less sins!
Me want that adorable n cute rabbit!!! ;-)
