Freedom

Sometimes we wonder how much freedom is enough.

How much limitation to freedom is good for us.

N sometimes we only see the positive outcome of freedom limitation after complaining about it then watching others suffer the consequences of the lack of this imitation. It can be argued on so many levels. But I shall talk bout myself 2day… wahahaha.. ok no sorry 2 disappoint u but I refuse 2 let ppl think I'm self centred. Haha.

1. The limited access to Internet I have from my room
   
2. Conformation to wearing collared shirt/tshirt and covered up shoes to faculty.
   
3. Conformation to wearing long pants outside the hostel block within college grounds.
   
4. Compulsory attendance in subject classes I don't like/ think is pointless.
   
5. Freedom to manage my own studies according to my own time outside class hours.
   
6. Freedom to choose my own groupmates-in certain groupworks.
   

   
   

   1. Limited Internet access
      

      :( - when I'm free I cant lepak on the net, chat on msn from my room, search 4 pbl stuff or any other relevant info from the hostel meaning I hav 2 spend an aftern in fac 2 go online 4 this purpose.
      

      :) - on the bright side, it means, whn formative or exams r near, there're less distractions ard in my room. However, I think this lack of freedom has more –ve effects cz I shud b given the liberty to manage my own time n priorities despite distractions ard. I mean, I'm 20 n I shud be able 2 avoid going on9 24-7 even there's internet connection here.. (yeah I'm stil too stingy to get myself broadband mar…)
      

      
      

   2. Code of Attire
      

      :( - lack of freedom of expression. Covered up shoes r annoying and the 1s that come w heels r seldom comfortable n blister inducing. Its either nice bt painful or ugly bt comfortable.
      

      :)- well I guess uni is a profesional learning institute so its only appropriate that its students dress smartly.
      

      
      

   3. Another code of attire
      

      :( - its super super annoying n inconvenient 2 hav 2 change into long pants EVERY time I wan 2 go 2 the café, get sth from sum1 from another block (even if its 5 meters away). N I stil dislike wearing track pants ard. Also, skirts have 2 cover the knee. Shorts (even knee length 1s) not allowed either.
      

      :) - I guess respect of cultures is a must esp whn u're a minority. N its 2 avoid ppl wearing hot pants / micro mini skirts ard. But then again, arent we in uni? Wad about the freedom of expression n own choice to disregard immorality. I mean, just bcz we wear shorts doesn't mean every guy is going 2 go gaga n every1's going 2 start having sex w each other etc. even if level of promisciousity increases, isnt that part n parcel of finding 1s other half. Lol. After all, God created man n women n these two shall unite thru matrimony n blah. Its not like putting restrictions on exposure of certain body parts such as the CALF is going 2 stop ppl from creating lustful images of others if they reli wan 2 do so. Lol. I c redundancy… hostels r already unisex anw. owh wait. I'm suppose 2 talk bout the positive outlook of this restriction here n look whr I am now. Lol. Since I'm on this, also, whr got ppl wear track pants 2 play netball or tennis or squash etc in the Olympics. N since guys can wear shorts for sports here, why not girls. its an implication that girls hav the ability 2 exercise more self control whn they c a guy's CALF than vice versa. Guys beg 2 differ??

   4. Classes
      

      :( - I better not mention the name of subject here or risk being expelled. Lol. If the syllabus or content was relevant to my field of study, or if the class reli had substance, I'm sure every1 wud attend whether or not it was compulsory. Shudnt we be given the choice to disregard things we deem as unimportant. n to instead use the time 2 pursue an area of interest or perhaps, that has more relevance to the main core subjects.
      

      :) - rules r rules we're forced 2 conform to rules (whether unreasonable or unfair) in any level of society, in the workforce etc. so might s well force myself to conform to rules in UNI.. So dat I can get used 2 more of them later whn I start work. Lolz.
      

      
      

   5. Time management.
      

      In this area it is sth I stil need 2 work on. I hav bn slacking wayyyy too much (n even hav the time 2 blog on this lol). The amount of extra reading, references, looking up 4 materials etc that I do subsequently decreases I tink. This is bad.
      

      
      

   6. Groupwork
      

      :( - Groupmates that u get, u might not get along w that well, or u nvr noe if ur group is productive n cooperative, anw u get the picture.
      

      :) - When u dun get 2 choose, u get 2 noe more ppl, mix n mingle ard more whn u work w ppl u dunno or didn't reli noe in the 1^st place. A pleasant surprise if ur grpmates happen 2 be reli nice, cooperative, effective workers and sociable ppl.
      

      
      

Debate camp in Bangi tmr morn til mon evening.. anticipating hard work. :S but hope it'll be FUN besides educational. Heheh.

Had Kajang satay courtesy to ppl who went 2 Bangi! Thank you! :P – enuf satays for the time being. Haha.

Did my clinical at HUKM on thurs! – fun :P I got a patient w joint pain due to hole in the heart. V good exposure. Also, HUKM wards r super nice… spacious n bright.

Bought myself a squash racket. Haha. Bye bye squennish hello squash! Keeps raining in the evening cant play tennis.. :(

Formative over this morn. Stil ok I guess. Hehhe.

- i played squash with a tennis racquet with 1) a tennis ball fr Kevin 2) a squash ball fr Qian in a battered squash court. (the wood surface looked like an aftermath of mutiny between a billion termites n another billion cockroaches) the squash ball travelled 410 degrees all across the already-battered-court. vertical, horizontal, criss cross, hitting wood surface, the ventilation fan, the lights, the players and.... of course, the racquet. heheh. fun :D

- i was on facebook b4 ppd class ysterday afternn whn joon yi pinged me saying 'oi finals in 1 months time u still online??' then i realised, OOOOOHHH MAAANNNNNN.... if it was 1 month b4 sch exams, i'd be nerding. if it was 1 month b4 stpm i'd be nerding like mad. n this, this is 1 month b4 uni 1st sem finals!!! uh oh.

- i DO hav pics bt uploading them using the IT lab comp isnt such a good idea.. hehe. (i was here since 2 hours ago clicking the mouse n watching graphs appear. TWO hours of graphs is enuf 2 get me here. ok. better get back..
